Yaadein
may strike a chord among the families
|
''My
film is about Indian home 2001'', says veteran film
maker Subhash Ghai, whose latest magnum opus Yaadein
is all set to hit the screen on July 27.
Yaadein will strike a chord among the
families as it is a story about the smiles and tears
they experience, he said. The film's music is doing
exceptionally well breaking all earlier music
records with over 1.5 million copies sold within 15
days of the release.
''This all-time sale record held by Yaadein
undoubtedly imprints these Yaadein as a fond
memory in the hearts of millions,'' said Ramesh
Taurani of Tips, which has purchased the music
rights of the film for a whopping Rs 60 million.
They were speaking at an exclusive ''meet the
stars'' gathering at Movie Star Complex in Goregaon
(Mumbai) on Friday evening. The lucky invitees to
the special 'Tips Yaadein lifetime offer' had got a
never-before opportunity to meet the mega star cast
of the film. The offer comprised an entry pass for
the programme with each CD purchased from select
outlets in Mumbai.
' 'Fame
is a liability as expectations are extraordinarily
high. I have tried my best to make a good film. I
hope you all like it,'' Ghai told the audience.
Produced under the Mukta Arts banner, Yaadein
stars Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor as the
romantic pair with Jackie Shroff in a stellar role.
The film also stars eighties heroine Rati Agnihotri
and Amrish Puri among others.
Music composer Anu Malik, Hrithik and Kareena were
present along with Ghai for the function. Both the
young stars came in for praise from the film maker,
who said that they both were extremely good students
and Yaadein will see their transformation into
mature actors. Both Hrithik and Kareena said that
the film was very close to their heart and they
learnt a lot from Subhash Ghai.
''The film means a lot to me,'' said Hrithik. While
Kareena said that it had been her childhood dream to
work with Subhash Ghai.
Yaadein
will be Hrithik's first film in 2001, after a dream
debut in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in January 2000
and films like Fiza and Mission Kashmir
under his belt. While Kareena's earlier film Mujhe
Kuch Kehna Hai has been declared the surprise
hit of 2001.
The young actress is all excited about her next
release.
