Manisha grabs a Malayalam flick
|
In
the face of her sagging Bollywood career the
Nepalese beauty Manisha Koirala is set to make a
re-entry into Malayalam cinema.
The cute-faced Koirala lass will play female lead
opposite Malayalam superstar Jayaram in a yet-to-be
titled film, to be directed by T.K.Rajeev Kumar.
Looking back in the past Rajeev Kumar is the same
director with whom Manisha worked in the comic caper
“Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya”, which was a flop
at the turnstiles.
Manisha, who has already done a couple of films down
south (Mani Ratnam’s “Bombay” and Shankar’s
“Indian”), is believed to have consented to do
the film when approached by its producer Kaliyoor
Shashi.

Kaliyoor is the same man who had produced Rajeev
Kumar’s last film “Vakkaaluththu Narayanan Kutty”.
The film he is now producing is based on the script
by P. Balachandran, and will be made on a lavish
scale.
Manisha, whom we will soon see in Kamal Hassan’s
much awaited bilingual “Abhay”, doesn’t have
much of a choice to make at this juncture of her
career when there is a dearth of good films in her
kitty. Anything that comes her way is as good as a
cake.
