Is Mahima playing traunt?
|
The
grapevine is abuzz that some of Mahima Chaudhary’s
producers are in for a rude shock! For, the actress
has committed herself to stage shows from July 12 to
August 30 in the U.S. and U.K., thereby ditching
four of her producers who were preparing themselves
to shoot their films.
An upset Mahima refuted the development when this
writer called on her. “Yes, I am committed to the
shows, but I haven’t cancelled any of my shoots to
accommodate them,” she tells me, adding, “I had
committed to these shows way back in January and all
my producers were aware that I wouldn’t be
shooting on those dates.
“Actually, Sunil Shetty and I would be shooting
for Mahesh Manjrekar’s TERE PYAAR KI KASAM when
not participating in the shows, in the U.S.. I have
wrapped up my portions for Kundan Shah’s DIL HAI
TUMHARA due to this reason. Only a 2-day shoot with
Arjun Ramphal and one song remains to be canned.
“When I signed Vashu-ji’s OM JAI JAGDISH, I had
categorically told him of these shows because I
didn’t want misunderstandings later. In any case,
Urmila, who also plays a lead role in the film, is
participating in these shows, so the schedule will
be held once we return from abroad.
“As for MASTANA (Govinda), the shooting is almost
complete, while the schedule of RAHEN NA RAHEN HUM
(Ajay Devgan) will commence once Ajay returns from
abroad. To be honest, I don’t know how these
rumours originated. But, believe me, there is not an
iota of truth in these malicious rumours.”

Her face lights up as the topic shifts to her next
release, YEH TERA GHAR YEH MERA GHAR. “It’s a
simple film, very well narrated by Priyadarshan.
It’s not one of those films that has a massive
backdrop, like LAGAAN, but the film is shot in one
house. The performances of Sunil and Paresh Rawal
are simply brilliant.”
