SONALI,
GOLDIE TO WED SOON AFTER RELEASE OF BISKH
Sonali
Bendre is waiting anxiously for the release of
'Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai'. No, she is not
planning to do any film with Abhishek Bachchan,
the star of this film. She has better plans up
her sleeve. She is all set to tie the knot
with director Goldie Bahl, as soon as the film
hits the screen. Actually the news about the
couple's impending marriage was doing the
rounds some months ago, but Sonali denied it
at that time as she feared that an
announcement of marriage might affect her
career.
Now, evidently, the circumstances have
changed, and Sonali herself reportedly
announced the nuptials at the silver marriage
anniversary party of Jackie Shroff and Ayesha.
She was there with beau Goldie, and the two
hung around till the wee hours of the morning.
It may be recalled that Sonali has featured in
some very good films. Her role in 'Sarfarosh',
opposite Aamir Khan was very much appreciated.
When she opted for Satish Kaushik's 'Hamara
Dil Aapke Paas Hai', little did she realize
that this role, spurned by several heroines,
including Mahima Chaudhary, would fetch her a
best actress award. She was expecting a lot of
offers to come her way after this award but
the wait was in vain. In the meantime, Goldie
(son of the late Ramesh Bahl, a director who
made hit films like 'Kasme Vaade' and 'Pukar'
with Amitabh Bachchan) got busy with 'Bas Itna
Sa Khwab Hai'. He had taken over the family
business from mother Madhu Bahl, who made a
film titled 'Angaar', directed by Mahesh Bhatt
some years ago. It was on the sets of this
film that Sonali came in contact with Goldie.
News of their love and romance did not become
public until one night they were spotted in
the discotheque of a hotel.
But neither
Goldie nor Sonali denied their relationship
after this incident became public. The
paparazzi lost interest after Sonali said at
the beginning of this year that she would wait
for two more years and then decide when to
marry. Goldie also had said that his
matrimonial plans would be on hold till he had
made a name for himself as a director.
Goldie is now a little bit worried about how
'Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai' will fare. Abhishek,
who stars in this film, has seen all his films
bomb, and it is but natural for Goldie to have
his apprehensions. Previously, the film was
slotted for release at the end of this month
but now the launch might be put off for some
time.
