Tabu signed Ujjwal Chatterjee's film based on
Sushmita Banerjee's autobiographical novel, Kabuliwaler
Bangali Bou. The film is about a girl who
marries a kabuliwala and returns to Afghanistan with
her husband. Under Taliban trails the girl finally
crosses the border into Pakistan and rushes to the
Indian High Commission there and manages to get her
deported to India where she waits anxiously for her
husband to join her. She accepts it because she
thinks it's a really another different film.
