Yashraj Films announces Mujhse Dosti Karoge with Hrithik, Kareena and Rani
Yash Raj Films has announced the launch of its next production - a story of Love and Friendship titled Mujhse Dosti Karoge?

The movie stars Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles. Uday Chopra will make his presence in a special appearance. The movie will be written and directed by Kunal Kohli. Rahul Sharma (Son of Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma) will compose the music and Anand Bakshi will pen the lyrics. The movie will go on the floors in the second quarter of 2001.

Shilpa Shetty to file a defamation lawsuit against Stardust
Shilpa Shetty has asked her lawyer to file a defamation suit against Magna Group of Publications, the publishers of Stardust. Stardust, in it's January 2001 issue has carried a news item on Shilpa having an affair with a married man after breaking up with boyfriend Akshay Kumar.

Shilpa's lawyer Satish said that the case would be filed on January 9th in Bombay high Court and they would seek an injunction against the sales of the copies of Stardust in which the said article has been published. He also added that they would force the magazine to print an apology in their next issue.

According to a close relative of the Shetty family, the magazine is spear-heading this smear campaign against Shilpa under pressure from a star who has just been engaged recently.

Meanwhile, the sources at Stardust have informed that they have not received any information regarding the lawsuit.

Abhishek injured on the sets of Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai
Abhishek Bachchan was injured in an accident last week on the sets of Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai. The movie stars Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukherjee and Sushmita Sen in lead roles.

{Abhishek Wallpapers}We do not know how it happened, but insiders said that Abhishek burnt his forehead while shooting. Fortunately, the injury was a minor one and Abhishek was back on the sets after a couple of days off. Bas Chhota Sa Zakhm Hai!

Salman landed up at Brookhill around midnight. He went upto the 17th floor apartment of his beloved and started knocking at the door. Apparently Ash was fast asleep after a tiring day on the sets of Devdas. But Sallu is like a man possessed when he gets obsessed. The knocking went on till about 4am in the morning. Finally the watchman and the secretary of the building decided that they had given enough time to the desperate lover to wake his lady love, and it was time to protect the other residents' right to undisturbed sleep. They requested the Khan to stop banging. Which would be a good suggestion for Salman whichever way you look at it.

Said the watchman on Brookhill duty that night: "Salman Khan came here at about one in the night and kept banging at Aishwarya Rai's door. She was not opening the door." The chowkidar had one more very interesting revelation to make. "The same evening, Aishwarya Rai's driver had told us that it was her family's orders that the actor should not be allowed into the building." Woof! The Rais are on Sallu's case big time.

 According to the watchman, Sallu came down from Ash's floor at 4 AM, after three hours of banging. He came down and stood outside the gate of the building and made some calls. "Two people came a little later. And then, the three of them went up again," revealed the chatty chowkidar. "Salman was up there the entire next day. He left in the evening with Aishwarya Rai."

No wonder the Devdas shooting schedule has been getting unexpected jhatkas. Apna real life devdas zara zyada 'dhunki' mein hai aaj kal. And bechari Paro, Ash. Caught between two very demanding Devdases!

They say, behind every successful man, there is a woman. Pardon the clich鬠but I must say that no one understands this one better than Fardeen. Post the dismal failure of papa Feroz's howler of a film Prem Aggan, Fardeen was a completely shattered twenty-seven-year old. Obviously, the sophisticated articulate newcomer couldn't understand the treatment meted out to him by the industry.

He had placed all his hopes in papa Feroz's venture, refusing all offers that came his way. Two days after the release of his debut disaster, the offers evaporated overnight. The phone stopped ringing, everyone turned their back on the Khan kid. Everyone except a few close friends and a lovely girl called Ruhi, who stood beside him through this dark phase.

If sources are to be believed, Fardeen first met Ruhi at a common friend's party in Delhi. And to the surprise of his friends, the self-confessed Casanova was soon making regular trips to Delhi. Ruhi on her part too was equally smitten with Fardeen. A popular name in Delhi's social circuits, Ruhi was herself recovering from a personal problem,like Fardeen who was battling with a professional crisis. And like it happens in Hindi films, pyar toh hona hi tha!

A close friend of the Khan confirms that the actor has been going steady with the Delhi girl for more than a year now. This seems like his first serious involvement after Pooja Bhatt. He did date Twinkle and Helen Brodie in the interim, but these were apparently casual relationships. He himself stated in an interview about Twinkle: "With Twinkle it was a case of hi, hello and bye!" While Helen according to the Khan "was (note the past tense) just a good friend." And we all know what that means!

"But with Ruhi, it is different" claims Fardeen's close friend. "He doesn't want to talk about her. He doesn't believe in sharing his private life with the world. He's not the Casanova people had made him out to be. In fact, he's paranoid about his private life. He will never ever mention her name in any of his interviews." Point taken. Fardeen's latest interview for example said: "Yes, I'm in love...but no names please!" Fardeen refused to admit the mystery girl's name even after relentless prodding and questioning.

But then to give the Khan his due, at least he does not deny her very existence. Unlike an Akshay Kumar who still insists that "Twinkle is just another co-star."

Salman creates ruckus outside Aishwarya's house!
Salman Khan wants Aishwarya Rai to quit films and marry him. The Rais naturally think he's lost it. As he gets more and more insistent, Ash's parents are becoming more and more resistant. And Sallu, the bully that he is, is harassing them, hoping they'll succumb in frustration someday. But the parents are nowhere near coming around and Sallu is running out of patience. So are the Rais. The industry's hottest love story is presently poised on a highly precarious perch. The latest incident is indicative of how precarious it really is.

The couple was supposed to have had a quarrel once again. Ash huffed off and refused to be available for her lover. With every failed attempt to get across to her, Sallu got more and more desperate. It was way past midnight when the lid blew off. It is believed that Sallu barged into Ash's building at 3 AM in the morning and created a tamasha. He started with shouting from below the building, yelling at his ladylove to come down. When the Rais refused to respond, he pushed the nahin-aap-nahin-jaa-sakte watchman aside and went up to her house and started ringing the doorbell furiously, continuously, till her parents opened the door.

It is said that the actor was high and intoxicated and when the parents refused to let him in, he started abusing and misbehaving with them. Aishwarya came out too, probably hoping that her presence would put an end to this embarrassing tamasha. Magar Khan sahab seemed to be in a determined aaj-to-faisla-karke-hi-jayenge mood. Screaming loudly and using very 'un'honewala damaad kind of language, he blamed them for opposing the relationship.

The Rais, too shocked by his behaviour and simultaneously conscious of the lights turning on in the other sections of the building, tried to whisper their daughter's lover away but laaton ke bhoot baaton se nahin mante. Despite numerous requests from her father to go back, stuck Sallu refused to budge till Aishwarya talked to him. Apna hero bhi koi kam nahin hai.

At last, if not for the raving and ranting irritant but for apni izzat, Aishwarya's mother took her husband inside, while Aishwarya urged sulking Sallu to leave and go back home. After much cajoling, he left but not after hurling many more abuses at them. As the actor got into his car, the neighbours turned off their lights and went back to sleep with a smile on their face. They had one more interesting kissa to tell their gasping-for-more friends. If the stars didn't live on razor's edge, who would?

Amisha Patel roughed up

Hooligans and rising temperatures almost ruined the shooting of "Suno Sasurjee", starring Amisha Patel and Aftaab Shivdasani, at Panvel. The producers had taken permission from CIDCO and were shooting near one of its gates. Suddenly, a local resident insisted that he'd use the gate where the shooting was being held. To the chargin of the unit, this man, one Mr Agarwal, walked into the frame thrice, leading a lot of footage being wasted. A scuffle followed and he was slightly injured. The matter, however, didn't end there. The man then barged into Amisha's make-up room, manhandled her, gave her a few bruises and then shattered the windowpanes of her car. Amisha, poor girl, had to be hospitalised.
